Get perfectly soft-boiled eggs every time. With this recipe, you can easily make perfect soft-boiled eggs every time. Instead of being boiled, the eggs are steamed, which makes them easier to peel.

Ingredients

4pers

Soft-boiled eggs

4pcs.Eggs

Instructions

1

Set number of portions/ number of eggs

To get the right result, it is necessary to adjust the programme based on the number of eggs you are cooking. So, start by adjusting the number of eggs you are cooking. The recipe is based on the assumption that the eggs are at fridge temperature. If your eggs are at room temperature, you will get a different result.

2

Cook the eggs

Pour 1 dl of water into the pot. Add the eggs to the pot, add the lid and start the program. The program will let you know, when the eggs are done, if you want hard boiled eggs you can just let the program continue to the last step.

3

Cool the eggs

As soon as the eggs are done, add plenty of cold water to the pot. No need to drain off the hot water first. Let the eggs cool for about 1 minute to stop them for further cooking, at this point they should still be warm. Drain the water and the eggs are ready to serve.

Tips for this recipe

If you want an egg where the yolk is a little firmer, but still soft, then just leave them in the pot for a few minutes before you add cold water to cool them down and stop the cooking process.

We are not having the best results with the program. I suspect the setting of the heating has something to say: could you specify what setting should be used? If the pot is heated a P the eggs don't get much time to warm up before the program starts counting compared to a more slow heating at e.g. 5 or 6

Always MAX / Boost / 9 / P depending on your hob. Then the hob itself will adjust the watt. Can you try again, or try use "the perfect egg" recipe/program, see if that works better for you?

Thanks for getting back, we finally had an occasion for soft boiled eggs today. Using "the perfect egg" and measuring the weight of each egg (58, 65, 65, 67) and carefully measuring the 1 dL of water we still experienced some runny egg white neat the yolk of all but the smallest egg, even though we had set the adjustment for the "smiling egg" setting. Perhaps our fridge is colder or the age of the eggs affect the result. We will keep trying "the perfect egg" the next couple of times we want soft boiled eggs

I follow directions (eggs straight from fridge, 1 dL of water, adjusting to the number of eggs). But even when I leave the eggs for 2 minutes after being told they're soft boiled I will get eggs where the innermost part of the egg white is still runny.

That does not sound like the result the program should give. The egg white should of course not be runny when the program is finished. Size of eggs maybe? Egg size can make quite a big difference, especially with soft-boiled eggs, where the timing is very precise. The program has been tested many times with eggs straight from the fridge and 1 dl of water, but if the eggs are very large, the innermost part of the white may need a little more time to set.

What setting has the heating been on when you developed the program? We have tried using it several times but are still not quite satisfied with the result. We are measuring the water and the eggs come straight from the fridge
