Get Started with Frying Easily

It can be difficult to maintain the right temperature of your oil. With frying, you often use food that is cold or frozen, which can cool the oil down along the way. With traditional induction, you risk the oil quickly becoming too hot and, in the worst case, catching fire.

Many use external thermometers or even toothpicks to constantly gauge the temperature.

You don't need to do that anymore.

With Ztove, you can simply set the temperature to 200°C. When frozen foods cool the oil down, more heat is automatically added. When the desired temperature is reached, Ztove automatically lowers the heat and maintains the temperature.

This ensures consistently crispy results every time, without the risk of burning the food or making it too greasy.

Restaurants invest in large appliances that can often cost up to 100,000 DKK. They do exactly the same as Ztove.

When you fry with Ztove, you can achieve the same results as you are used to getting at restaurants

How Hot Should the Oil Be for Frying?

The temperature of the oil is crucial when frying. If it is too cold, a lot of oil is absorbed into the food, resulting in a soggy outcome.

However, it is also important that the oil is not too hot. If the oil is very hot, you risk the food burning before it is fully cooked. When you reach a temperature above 300°C, the oil can catch fire.

Between 160°C – 220°C is Good

When frying, the temperature should be between 160°C and 220°C. It should be kept as stable as possible to achieve the best result. Ztove handles this automatically.

If you buy an external fryer that plugs into the socket, it provides 2 kW of power (may vary). When you use a pot on Ztove, it provides 3 kW. This means that the temperature with Ztove can be stabilized much better than usual.

The oil can drop by up to 40°C when you put the food in the oil, but with a powerful zone like on Ztove, it can quickly return to the right temperature.

It is very important for a good result that the temperature can quickly return to where it was before the food was added to the oil. In fact, the value of the high power is so great that with Ztove, you can fry frozen French fries from cold oil and still get the same crispy result you are used to.

You should try this: Put oil in a pot, set the temperature on the hob to 220°C, and add the frozen French fries. All you have to do is wait until they float and are crispy.

Which Oil Should Be Used for Frying?

Vegetable oils with a high smoke point are best for frying. Here we are talking about refined sunflower oil, peanut oil, and rapeseed oil – rapeseed oil is particularly suitable. There are also mixed products consisting of a blend of different types of oil that are suitable for frying.

In general, we recommend using good quality oil. It may seem more expensive, but it can be reused up to 10 times. You just need to make sure to store it properly and strain food residues when pouring it back into the container. The oil may take on a slight flavor from the food you previously cooked in it, but nothing significant.
