Automatic Rice Cooker

A normal rice cooker, which you plug into the socket, works by measuring the temperature of the rice. Water cannot get hotter than 100 °C, so when it measures 110 °C, it means the water has evaporated, and the rice is done.

Ztove's automatic rice cooker works the same way.

Put rice, salt, and water in a Ztove pot. Start the program with the free Ztove app, and the rice will be automatically cooked to perfection.

When they are done, Ztove automatically lowers the temperature to 60 °C to keep them warm, and you get a notification.

Ingredients

  • 2-9 dl rice
  • Water (1.5 times the amount of rice)
  • 0.5-1.5 tsp. salt

Recipe Steps

Before You Start

Put your chosen amount of rice, water, and salt in the 3 L pot. Put the lid on and press the “play” button for the amount of rice you are cooking.

It's a really good idea, when the rice is resting, to turn them once to loosen them. This ensures the rice is evenly cooked.

The rice benefits from resting in the pot at 65 °C. So if you need to eat at 6 PM, start the rice at 5 PM, and they will be perfect. If you're in a hurry, they can be eaten as soon as the program says they are done.

The salt amounts are level measurements, not heaped.

Tips and Tricks

If you need to cook brown or black rice, you can advantageously add a little more water to the pot than stated in the recipe.

If you want to make sushi rice, you can use the same method as indicated in the recipe. Just mix the cooked rice with a marinade consisting of 4 tbsp. Japanese rice vinegar, 2 tbsp. sugar, and 0.5 tsp. salt.

If you want loose rice that doesn't stick together as much, rinse them thoroughly before cooking. If you prefer stickier rice that can be easily eaten with chopsticks, do not rinse them.

If you want to serve your rice in portions, try putting the rice in a small bowl and turning them out onto a plate. This way, you get a nice little half rice ball.
